Rsvp Card And Allergies

third last time the 2009 budget year zero: 1 (music)

raining on the snow.

2009 was a year that required much concentration. For this reason, perhaps, I have devoted less time to the music than usual, especially at certain times of the day. More than anything, to suffer was my thirst for discovering new things, but this has solved my friend Mana, I spent a few albums of great interest that, in all probability, after the necessary break-in period, will come to Olympians to be part of my favorites.
However, I find it difficult to draw up a top ten releases of this year. To make a selection of ten titles, I would have appreciated a lot more, and it is not. I have heard many good things, I have known and a number of valid outputs known authors have confirmed my love for that group or that singer, but ... Oh well ', in short, a top ten of 2009 I can not do it, so I can only say that the 2009 album I've heard the most are definitely Beware Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Fever Ray the singer of the Knife, Good Morning Jokers of Mi and L'au, The Duckworth Lewis Method eponymous group, and finally the compilation Dark Was the Night . Another album that I really enjoyed it The Conformists of Doveman. These are the only certainties for now ... then I'll stop here.
Regarding the disappointments of 2009, the largest come from two of the authors that I loved most in recent years: Micah P. Hinson and Sufjan Stevens. The first trascurabilissimo made a covers album ( All Dressed Up And Smelling of Strangers ), almost annoying in its banality. The latter continues to prevaricate with smaller projects (two: Run Rabbit Run and The BQE), while we shiver waiting for a new Illinois for almost five years.

2000/2009
But of course the 2009 is also the end of a decade of music. Although over ten years, the musical tastes change direction, change and evolve, and then things get a bit 'more complex, at least I have more material to be selected to produce a proper ranking. A top 10 seemed too little ... so I decided to throw down a top 5, which includes the five albums that I loved most of the decade ... I put it in the queue and ten other almost equally loved. Of course, the rankings do not want to buy the best things ever created in this decade, but only my personal preferences, or those albums that I really loved and listened to more over the decade. In addition to things that are beyond my knowledge there are in fact a lot of albums of which recognize the beauty but have failed to take root in my feeling (I think For example, a group like the Animal Collective, which is objectively good, but that at the end of the day, I get bored). I purposely left out most things this year and those known only recently, so still need a bit of 'assimilation. I kept only one of Mi and L'au, which is perhaps what struck me most of the album last year. I also decided to send only one album by artist ... it goes without saying that many of them should have at least a tie among their relatives.

Here are the five albums of the decade I've heard and appreciated most:

Sufjan Stevens, Come on, Feel the Illinois! (2005)
Cat Power, You Are Free (2003)
Bonnie "Prince" Billy , The Letting Go (2006)
Tunng, Comments of the Inner Chorus (2006)
Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress , Micah P. Hinson & The Gospel of Progress (2004)

The first four positions I have no doubt. The fifth left me a bit 'undecided ... then you realize that could easily be replaced by some of the albums below.

And now the other ten (in order casuale):

Blonde Redhead , Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons (2000)
Radiohead , In Rainbows (2007)
The Knife , Deep Cuts (2003)
Baustelle , Sussidiario illustrato della giovinezza (2000)
The National , Boxer (2007)
Ardecore , Ardecore (2005)
Johnny Cash , The Man Comes Around (2002)
Iron & Wine , Our Endless Numbered Days (2004)
Bright Eyes, I'm Wide Awake It's Morning (2005)
Mi and L'au , Good Morning Jokers (2009)

sure I forgot something, but never mind.

O'hare To Rockford Clocktower

happy new year greetings

The sun is shining, but I closed the blind bothered me because the reflection on the screen.

Happy New Year. Yes, I know I'm late. But sooner or I was not home or I was busy with work, or both. Even now I'm busy with work, actually. But I decided I could not wait to do their best wishes.
Actually my initial intentions were to end 2009 with a series of posts bodied in which I was a bit 'budget year and the years from different points of view (uh, that original idea), but then I had too much to do and amen. Never mind, I'll try tomorrow, calmly and without deadlines. So the year is over and not really something I almost lost the last minute.
What topics could I touch it? Hmm ... uhm ... Well, certainly the personal ... the music ... politics (see here) ... the cinema ... Best search keywords that led to the year ... Strange Weather ok, we're here, now I just do it.
Meanwhile, good 2010.
